What can I expect at a brow shaping?

At a brow shaping appointment I hand you a mirror and ask that you show me and tell me all about your brow history. I’ll ask you to describe your likes, dislikes, and brow goals. After I understand your vision, I give you my professional opinion of how to enhance the shape and color of your brows. I shape your brows using tweezers, scissors, and a dermaplaning razor. I then fill in your brows with high quality makeup products to reveal the best shape and color for your skin and facial structure. It’s a makeup application lesson, as well as a brow cleanup!

Should I get a shaping before considering permanent makeup?

I would highly recommend it. A shaping doubles as a hands on consultation. You’ll be able to ask any questions you may have, and I’ll be able to show you how I would design your custom brows.

If you have had previous work from a permanent brow artist, I typically require a shaping appointment first. This way I can evaluate your skin, and any leftover pigment. Please read my “Permanent Makeup” page under “FAQ” to find where I go into further detail about booking if you’ve had permanent makeup from another artist.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

It is $50 for a brow shaping, and takes about 45 minutes.

What is a brow lamination?

A brow lamination restructures the brow hair so it can be groomed into a fluffy upward and outward flow. A perming solution is applied to form the brow hair, then a neutralizing solution to set the shape, and finally a conditioning solution to hydrate the brow hair. This service is great for fuller brows with a medium to fine shaft thickness. If your brow hair grows down, this is a great service to reform the flow of the brows and emphasize the shape you desire.

How long does it last?

Brow laminations last as long as your hair growth stage, which is approximately 6-8 weeks. If you want to consider permanent makeup but aren’t sure if you would be comfortable with the change, try a lamination first to see if you’d be okay with a longer term difference.

How much does it cost?

It is $100. I shape and style your brows during the appointment so you are fit for an event immediately after your appointment.

What is the pre-care and aftercare?

Avoid tweezing, waxing, threading, and trimming 2-4 weeks before booking an appointment. Must be 2 weeks after your last chemical peel.

After your service, avoid getting water on your brows for 48 hours. Avoid sweating, and steaming your brows for 48 hours. This means no heavy exercise, saunas, jacuzzis, or super hot showers and baths. Your brow hair is still malleable for the next 48 hours, so if you put a shirt over your head and they get combed down, comb them back to the desired shape.

What is brow tint?

Brow tint is a staining of the skin and hair to give your brows a fuller, slightly darker appearance. I use a color that matches your natural brow hair and skin. I first shape your brows and then apply the tint gel to your brows in a perfected shape. The color solution stays on for 5-20 minutes depending on your skin and hair absorbency.

This is a great service for blonde, silver, and light brown brow hair. This is also a great service if you have brow hair, but lack the shape you desire.

How long does it last?

It is a semi-permanent service that can last 2-4 weeks depending on your skin type, proper aftercare, and lifestyle. The tint is the darkest in the first few days, and progressively gets lighter as the days go by. You may find as the weeks go by that you like the tint at a certain point in the fading process!

It is $75 for a tint. A brow shaping is included in the service. The appointment can last up to 1 hour.

What is the pre-care and after-care?

Avoid tweezing, waxing, and trimming your brows for 2 weeks if possible. Any leftover tint should be 3-4 weeks faded. Must be 2 weeks after your last chemical peel.

After your appointment you will avoid steam, sweating and getting your brows wet for 24-48 hrs. After the time is up, you may wash your brows. They will begin to progressively lighten for the remaining weeks after this.
